The Telephone Equipment Distribution Program gives telephone equipment to people who are hard of hearing, deaf, or have a speech or mobility impairment. With the equipment, people can use their telephone more easily. What equipment is given? Telephones that amplify sound,Devices that show when the phone rings, TTYs, Speaker phones, Special equipment for people who are deafblind.The equipment is provided on a long-term basis at no cost. The TED Program is paid for through a surcharge on all private telephone lines in Minnesota. How do I qualify? You must: Live in Minnesota Have a hearing loss, speech or mobility impairment that limits your use of a standard telephone Have a telephone in your home or have applied for telephone service
